The By-Products of Living for God (Part 3): Peace
On Peace
Everyone wants peace.
We search for it in silence, vacations, financial security, healthy relationships, or a world without conflict. These things can certainly bring moments of calm, but they cannot guarantee lasting peace.
Why?
Because the greatest battles are often not around us, but within us.
A restless heart can be surrounded by comfort and still find no rest. A peaceful heart can walk through storms without losing its center.
True peace is not escaping life's problems. It is standing firm in the middle of them without being consumed by fear, anger, or anxiety. It comes from knowing that your life is anchored to something greater than your circumstances.
When a person lives for God, the need to control everything begins to fade. The future no longer has to be predictable. Every unanswered question no longer becomes a source of panic. Trust slowly replaces fear, and the soul finds a quiet strength that the world cannot manufacture.
This kind of peace is not weakness. It is courage without panic, confidence without arrogance, and stillness without indifference.
Perhaps peace is not something we find by changing the world around us.
Perhaps it is the natural fruit of a life that has surrendered to God.
So the deeper question is:
If my peace disappears whenever life refuses to go my way, what is really sitting on the throne of my heart?
