A White Coat Is Not a Halo

A doctor walks into a Telangana school and says a neat line:

“Technology changes. Character does not.”

The hall claps. Teachers nod. Students write it in their notebooks as if it were a law of nature.

That line is not wisdom. It is a sedative.

If the sentence makes you quiet, it is not character education. It is cattle training.

Technology will keep changing. That part is true. AI will change. Medicine will change. Jobs will change. The people who fear that change will hide behind “character,” “culture,” and “values” because those words sound holy and cost them nothing.

Real character is uglier and braver. Real character says:

• I will not clap because the man is famous.
• I will not call a slogan science.
• I will not let a white coat do my thinking.
• I will follow evidence even when the hall hates it.
