Kalam Gave You a Rocket. They Gave You a Remote Control.
Today is October 15. A boy from Rameswaram was born on this day in 1931. He sold newspapers. He built rockets. He became President. He asked the young to dream.
Ninety-five years later, the nation remembers him. Every party posts his photo. Every IT cell types "Missile Man." Every leader says students are the future.
Now look at what they do with the science he gave you.
This week, Delhi streets filled with protest over voter rolls. Within hours, phones filled with fiction. Fake videos of police firing. False news of a leader injured. Police say around 500 misleading posts came down and four FIRs were filed.
Then came the counter-strike. A news channel announced a Pakistani plot behind the protests. A fact-checker answered that one flagged account proves nothing about the opposition. Memes flew both ways. Nobody waited for evidence. Everybody picked a jersey.
See the machine.
One camp sells you fear: "They are shooting at the crowd." The other camp sells you a foreign enemy: "Pakistan is behind them." Both want the same thing. Your thumb. Your share. Your rage, before your reason wakes up.
Meanwhile the cameras watch the crowd. Protesters claim they were filmed, some allegedly with smart glasses. An actress posted a face-paint tutorial to fool facial recognition. Experts say the paint fails against modern AI. The rulers watch you. The rebels perform for you. Nobody trusts you to think.
Kalam's satellites were built to watch storms and farmland. Today the same science is aimed at your mind. Algorithms learn what makes your blood boil. Party war-rooms feed them. Ruling party, opposition, all of them. Different flags. Same factory.
Do not become ammunition. Before you forward anything, ask:
- Who recorded this, and where is the original?
- Who gains if this spreads in the next ten minutes?
- Has anyone outside that party's camp confirmed it?
- Was it written to inform you, or to inflame you?
Kalam said a real dream is the one that does not let you sleep. Propaganda wants the opposite. It wants your eyes wide open and your mind fast asleep.
Today is World Students' Day. A student is not a foot soldier for a party. A student is a scientist of truth. Test the claim. Check the source. Doubt the hero. Doubt the villain.
Kalam gave this nation rockets so it could rise.
Why are you still handing them the remote?
